Job Description
Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and the Center for Quantum Materials and Technology (QT/e) are looking for a Quantum Hub Coordinator to strengthen the QDNL Brainport Eindhoven ecosystem. This role is at the heart of one of the five regional innovation hubs of QDNL, which aims to accelerate the development of quantum technologies for applications such as quantum computing, quantum secure communication, and quantum sensing applications.
As Quantum Hub Coordinator, you will be facilitating a growing and active quantum community in the Brainport region in terms of project support, events participation and organisation, supporting the activities of the quantum hub, and facilitating in expanding the network of partners and in the increasing collaborations with industry. Operating from the Qubit building at our campus, you will work closely with TU/e colleagues, Brainport Development, BOM, and other partners to grow and energize the local ecosystem. Your responsibilities include coordinating hub activities, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring smooth operations.
You will collaborate with a dedicated Hub team of program managers, business developers, communication and project officers to deliver impact.
Key Responsibilities include:
Hub Coordination
- Manage systems for day-to-day operations of the Eindhoven Hub from the Qubit building, coordinating activities, managing the hub agenda, ensuring a welcoming, well-organized, and smoothly functioning environment for researchers, partners, and visitors.
- Liaise with QDNL’s national team and the other four quantum hubs in Amsterdam, Leiden, Delft and Twente.
- Support the other team members of QDNL Brainport Eindhoven (which focus on startup & business development and program management), national House of Quantum coordination, including preparation of meetings, coordinating stakeholders, developing supporting materials and project management tasks such as monitoring budgets and KPI’s, and assist in the reporting.
- Assist in connecting researchers to entrepreneurial opportunities and IP development activities, for example in facilitating introductions, supporting matchmaking, guiding them to the relevant support structures and setting up ways to automate these connections.
Community Building & Engagement
- Foster collaboration among researchers, students, startups, companies, and public partners in the Eindhoven quantum ecosystem.
- Organize, and promote events such as the Brainport Quantum Day, workshops, themed afternoons, networking sessions, and host international delegations, visitors and stakeholders.
- Strengthen the common identity and sense of community within the Eindhoven quantum ecosystem.
- Collaborate with communication teams at TU/e, Brainport Development, BOM, and other stakeholders to amplify visibility of relevant quantum technology developments coming from this hub.
- Content creation in collaboration with Hub colleagues, scientists and communication officers, and maintain active communication channels (weekly agenda of activities, website, social media).
Stakeholder Relations
- Act as the first point of contact for local and visiting stakeholders.
- Work with the Hub team on building and maintaining relationships with academic, industrial, and governmental partners.
- Represent the Hub in regional and national quantum initiatives.
Deliverables include:
- A visible and well-structured quantum community, with recurring events, active communication channels, recognizable formats, and a central website providing key information about the hub and its activities.
- An active and engaged community of researchers, startups, industry partners, and public stakeholders who regularly participate in hub activities.
- Demonstrable growth in participation and engagement across hub activities, events, and community initiatives over time.
- Assist the Hub team in quantifying these deliverables annually such that the Quantum Hub Coordinator can steer towards a solid demonstrable growth.
Job Requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in community management, stakeholder engagement, and event coordination.
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to work independently.
- Strong affinity with science, engineering, innovation, or ecosystem development (quantum experience is a plus).
- Excellent (written and verbal) proficiency in English.
