IIT Kanpur, India invites application for Sr. Project Scientist Position at IIT from eligible and interested candidates

Summary

Applications are invited for a temporary post at the National Centre for Flexible Electronics, IIT Kanpur, in collaboration with TCS, Kolkata. Positions available are Sr. Project Engineer (PhD/M.Tech + 3 years experience in thin film electronics) and Sr. Project Scientist (PhD + 1 year or Postgraduate + 4 years experience). Candidates should have expertise in piezoelectric materials, device fabrication, printing techniques, and characterization of thin film devices. Responsibilities include R&D in flexible electronics, sensor array development, and quality standards implementation. Salary is Rs. 38,800-95,400 per month. Application deadline is July 15, 2026. Eligibility / Qualification

Minimum Qualification and Experience: Ph.D.* + 1 year relevant experience Or Postgraduate + 4 years relevant experience in thin film electronics

Desirable Qualification And Expertise

• Sound knowledge of piezoelectric and ferroelectric materials, e.g. PVDF, P(VDF-TrFE), PZT etc.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication of memory/pressure sensor devices
• Hands-on experience with printing techniques, e.g. screen printing, ink-jet printing etc.
• Experience with electrical and optical characterization of thin film devices, such as TFTs, memories and diodes.
• Hands-on experience with C-V, I-V and P-E characterization tools (e.g. semiconductor parameter analyzer, ferroelectric tester etc.)
• Experience with working in class 10000 and better cleanroom
• Familiarity with Thin film deposition and patterning, i.e. PVD, CVD, ALD, coating, lithography, wet and dry etching.
  
  

Job Description

Applications are invited for the following temporary & contractual post to work on thin film electronics at National Centre for Flexible Electronics (www.ncflexe.in) at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. This is a collaborative project of NCFlexE, IIT Kanpur with TCS, Kolkata. The details of the project and qualification requirements are given below:

For Sr. Project Engineer

Minimum Qualification and Experience: PhD or M.Tech + 3 years, with experience relevant in thin film electronics.

Nature Of Work

The candidate’s tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Conducting research and development in large area flexible electronics that serves as a foundation for development of domestic industry in this field
• Development of sensor arrays using piezoelectric polymers
• Realization of thin film electronics devices on glass and polymer substrates
• System integration towards realization of memory arrays
• Implementing work procedures and quality standards
• Prepare presentations and reports
  
  

Salary: Rs. 38800-3200-95400/- (per month based on qualification)

Term of the appointment will be purely on temporary and contractual basis initially for a period of two years or end of the project, whichever is earlier
