Salary Range: $180,000 – $205,000
The Cape May County Engineer’s Office is seeking a qualified County Engineer candidate with a Bachelor’s of Sciences degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school and licensed in the State of New jersey as a Professional Engineer. Candidate shall have at least 10 years experience in road/traffic/bridge/construction project management/civil engineering projects acting in the role of Professional Engineer in responsible charge of those projects. Applicant shall have demonstrated experience in design of civil engineering projects with an emphasis in road design, drainage design, bridge design, traffic engineering and site work projects. Applicant must demonstrate experience in designing such civil engineering projects but should also have functioned as the project manager in responsible charge of such projects, including field oversite of roadway and site related work. The applicant must have demonstrated work experience working for County government, State government or municipal government, with managerial oversight of both clerical and professional engineer staff. The possession of a CME certification is desirable but not required, however intimate knowledge and first hand experience of the processes and workings of government agencies is essential. In addition, the applicant must be experienced in the Federal Local Lead process, County Aid process and other State and Federal grant processes. The applicant should be in possession the Federal Aid Responsible Charge Certification and other relative Federal Aid certifications required for the governing body’s ability to accept Federal Aid grants, or be able to obtain such certifications immediately.
