We, the IBM IntelliMagic Team in Leiden, develop specialist software in the field of performance management of mainframe and storage systems. We are a professional company with a good atmosphere and with great appreciation for the personal input and qualities of our employees.

We are looking for a Tester for one of our development teams.

Your Role And Responsibilities

Together with the other testers, you will be responsible for quality control within our development process based on agile principles with monthly iterations. You will work closely with the developers and other testers throughout the development process. We have an automated test environment that we are constantly expanding and improving. In addition, manual testing is of course part of your job.

• You think in advance about how features and bug fixes should be tested. To do this, you adapt existing tests or design new tests, perform them and interpret the results
• You are responsible for running, maintaining and expanding the automatic test environment and think about how we can automate even more
• You consult with the team about quality aspects such as usability, testability, and robustness
• You discuss with the developers what impact their changes can have and adjust your tests accordingly
• You assess where the risks are and you advise whether the product is ready for the monthly release
• You register test results and other relevant findings in a clear fashion in our tracking system

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• You have very good analytical skills, an eye for detail, and can distinguish between main and side issues
• You have at least 2 years of experience in testing software and automating tests
• You enjoy understanding results and acquiring the necessary knowledge
• You like to engage colleagues in your pursuit of attention to quality
• You are friendly and open and work well with software developers and other colleagues
• You speak excellent English and Dutch or are willing to learn the latter

• Test Automation Frameworks: Exposure to test automation frameworks, including unit tests, integration tests, and functional tests, to drive efficient testing processes
• Industry-Leading Testing Practices: Experience with industry-leading exploratory testing practices to identify defects and determine root causes
• Agile Development Methodologies: Exposure to agile development methodologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products
