In this role you are responsible for the packaging engineering related tasks ranging from technical support to the day-to-day operations, optimizing standard running conditions for existing and defining running conditions for new product (packaging materials) introductions, and act as expert during capital investment projects within our canning lines.

What will you do?

  • As subject matter expert of packaging lines you will bring packaging engineering expertise to new and current initiatives and projects within the canning lines area.
  • You act as the Technical Services representative supporting the day-to-day operations of the Packaging department. This ranges from trouble shooting to investigation and resolving quality, safety and capacity deviations.
  • Responsible for defining and optimizing standard running conditions and (quality) critical parameters of the highly automated packaging line to ensure safety, quality, capacity and optimal costs.
  • Works actively with Operations and Quality Teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Works actively and closely with the Operational teams to continuously search for improvements.
  • Works with the Engineering teams to identify improvements to the packaging process, including software improvements.
  • Responsible for the handover of projects from R&D to the factory. Representing the factory in New Product Development projects. This comprises developing and executing qualifications / validations in conjunction with the R&D Department.
  • Applies understanding of HACCP, GMP’s, regulatory requirements, safety and environmental standards to packaging process design and packaging process qualifications.
  • Participates actively in capital project teams. You take a leading role in the process design and equipment specification and selection and support project teams throughout.

Who are you?

  • B.Sc. / M. Sc working and thinking level preferably supported with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Automation, Mechatronics.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in automated packaging process related field.
  • Knowledge of food processing, HACCP, quality management, food safety.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to important details, without losing the overall picture.
  • Ability to identify, assess and solve problems in an efficient way.
  • Effectively work with teams, excellent leadership qualities, positive attitude, and strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to a diverse audience.
  • Result oriented, has strong willingness to achieve.
