Private Equity Analyst - #56772

The global portfolio operations team is hiring an Analyst to join its PE Energy team. This is a core, hands-on role spanning both portfolio management and selective support across the investment lifecycle — from sourcing and due diligence through to exit. The Analyst works closely with Investment Officers and engages directly with investee companies to monitor performance, support value creation, and maintain strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of investments alongside Senior Investment Officers, including preparing investment reviews and fair value assessments.
• Process disbursements, capital calls, and change requests.
• Track performance of existing investments by analysing key financial and operational metrics and recommending portfolio adjustments as needed.
• Contribute to the preparation of required legal documents in cooperation with the Legal department.
• Monitor macroeconomic news, market developments, and sector trends relevant to the energy portfolio.
• Gather and maintain up-to-date information from financial databases, ensuring file completeness and accuracy.
• Actively participate in shareholder, board, and advisory committee meetings, typically coordinated by Investment Officers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with investees by understanding their business models, tracking their development, assessing follow-on opportunities, and identifying areas for value creation — including in capacity development, environmental and social standards, and corporate governance.
• Support the selection, assessment, due diligence (including KYC and customer due diligence), and execution of new and follow-on investments.
• Assist in implementing value creation plans and actively monitor investee progress against initial investment theses; support preparation of updated plans where required.
• Support investee exit processes through to the collection of funds.
• Contribute to PE Energy team strategy implementation across the broader organisation, including project and process-related activities.
• Produce sector analyses, market mappings, and strategy documents.
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Background in private equity, finance, or the energy sector.
• Ability to analyse financial and operational performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Familiarity with investment processes including due diligence, legal documentation, and portfolio monitoring.
• Strong relationship management skills and the ability to engage credibly with investee management teams and external stakeholders.
• Comfortable working across multiple workstreams simultaneously in an international environment.
• Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and database information.
• Currently residing in the Netherlands — this is a requirement for selection.
  
  

Compensation & Benefits

• Gross annual salary of EUR 45,000–50,000 for a 40-hour work week, inclusive of holiday allowance, depending on experience and background.
